NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION
Pursuant to Art XVI Sec XXI of the Local 80 Constitution, there will
be a Special Election to fill the Vacancies of the Offices of
Business Manager and Trustee at the next regular General Membership
Meeting, on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 10 AM.

The meeting will be held via Zoom, and all members attending must be
in good standing. All members attending will be eligible to make
nominations and to vote.
Nominated candidates must accept the nomination either in person (via
Zoom), or in writing. By accepting a nomination, a candidate attests to
being eligible to be a candidate for office.
Rules of eligibility to be an Officer are:
1. A candidate must have been a member in continuous good standing for
at least two (2) years prior to the date of nomination and as of the
election and the candidate’s dues must be paid through the month prior
to the month in which the nominations meeting and election are held.
“Good standing” shall be construed to mean that the member has
fulfilled the requirements for membership in Local 80 and/or
International, and has not voluntarily withdrawn from membership, nor
been expelled or suspended from membership.

2. A candidate shall be actively engaged in the industry within Local
80’s jurisdiction and have worked for at least one hundred and twenty
(120) days in the past thirty-six (36) months. Time served as an
Officer or employee of Local 80 or the International shall be applicable
towards the days requirement.

3. No person who has been convicted of, or served any part of a prison
term resulting from conviction of, robbery, bribery, extortion,
embezzlement, grand larceny, burglary, arson, violation of narcotics laws,
murder, rape, assault with intent to kill, assault which inflicts grievous
bodily injury, or a violation of title II or III of this act, any felony involving
abuse or misuse of such person’s position or employment in a labor
organization or employee benefit plan to seek or obtain an illegal gain at
the expense of the members or beneficiaries, or conspiracy to commit
any such crimes or attempt to commit any such crimes, or a crime in
which any of the foregoing crimes is an element, shall serve or be
permitted to serve as an officer, director, trustee, member of any
executive board or similar governing body, business agent, manager,
organizer, employee, or representative in any capacity of any Labor
organization during or for the period of thirteen (13) years after such
conviction or after the end of such imprisonment, whichever is later.
