Local 80 Members Should Report to their Studio of Origin for the Struck Show That They Work on.

Dear sisters and brothers,

This is one of several messages you will be receiving over the weekend.
As everyone knows, or should know by now, International President Matthew Loeb has called for a strike against all AMPTP companies producing under the Basic Agreement and Video Tape Agreement, as well as the Area Standards Agreement. And even though we are still at the bargaining table trying to get an agreement, at the time of this writing there are no plans to call off the strike. The strike would be called off only if the employers meet our demands and we come to an agreement that can be recommended to the members for ratification.
The strike is set to begin at 12:01 am, Monday, October 18, 2021. As such, members working for any Company, and/or production covered under the Basic Agreement or Video Tape Agreement are not to report for work after this time and date. If you are already at work, you are to gather your belongings and leave the job site at 12:01 am on Monday, October 18, 2021.
Where do I report to, and what am I to do?
We are asking that you report for to the place that you would otherwise show up for work. If every member of each of the West Coast Studio Locals shows up at their regular place of work we should be able to fully staff the picket lines. As you can imagine, the first couple of days will be a little chaotic so we will be asking for your patience and understanding. Once we have and idea of how many members of all the locals
The Picket Captains and Line Captains will have picket signs for your use.
We will be maintaining picket lines beginning at 6:00 am and run till 6:00 pm. If you do not have a regular show or studio that you work for, please go to the Local 80 website and sign up for picket service at a location that may need additional coverage.

There are several Companies and productions that are not part of the strike. Those Companies are those producing under the “Pay TV” Agreement, the Commercial Agreement and possibly the “Low Budget Producers Agreement, as well as our Shop Agreements.
To follow is a list of productions and or Companies that are not part of the Basic Agreement and therefore would not be on strike.
The Secret Lab, The Traveling Lab, HBO, Showtime, Starz, Cranetown Low Budget, FRB, Horizon Alternative, Horizon Prod., Beachwood Services, The Commercial Agreement, Low Budget Theatrical Agreement, It’s A laugh, The Kelly Clarkson Show.
More to come.
In solidarity,
Thom Davis
